heavy crowns is a roleplaying forum inspired by the popular franchise pokemon, which does not belong to us. the skin was crafted by pharaoh leap of gangnam style. all art on the forum does not belong to us unless stated otherwise, while all written works belong to the members who posted them. do not take anything that is not your's, please. thank you.
Combat is rather free forum here. After you get all of your moves and your pokemon the levels you want, then the actual combat part is pretty freefourm. Just kind of use levels and types as a general guideline. If you have level 5 pokemon and you're going up against someone with level 30, you're probably going to lose. Of course, if they're close enough in level then just play it fair? We all win some and lose some, if you start having to much of a winning a streak a staff might have to have a word with you. Otherwise, just have fun with combat! Be reasonable~
Pokemon levels work one of two ways, just like moves you can either purchase them from the store. OR you can earn them through battles. The prices of each level are listed in the store if you're wanting to do that.
But in order to level up through battles, it's actually a pretty simple processes and hopefully will be easy to understand.
In every thread that you battle, depending on the result you either gain one battle point for losing or two battle points for winning. Someone's current points can be viewed in their profile.
In order to level up you must spend these battle points, each level is equal to the amount of battle points you need to spend. So, level two costs two battle points, three costs three battle points ect.
You do not have to spend these points right away! If you want to keep a Pokemon a certain level feel free! The battle points will be useful for other things too! But most of those things are secret for now, so for now just focus on leveling.
Every time you obtain a Pokemon, whether it be your starter or bought from the store, you start with one free move. Of course, this move must be within what level you buy that Pokemon to start with. HM and TM moves are more expensive, but just like in the games you can keep them in your inventory for as long as you want and HMs can be reused as much as you want.
If you look in the store, you can buy extra moves for your Pokemon. But you're also able to just learn moves along with level ups that are NOT purchased. If you want a move that's lower then what your purchased level is then you're going to have to buy it.
Each Pokemon knows four moves just like in the actual Pokemon games. But, if you want to 'forget' a move and replace it with another one you can actually sell Pokemon moves, and replace it with other Pokemon moves. Of course you'll only get half of what you would have payed for it though.
Egg moves are allowed, but you are only allowed one per Pokemon and cost 10 points. Hidden abilities are also allowed, but are the by given out to your Pokemon sparingly.
