In a world where no ten-year-old children rose up to defeat the teams that threatened to take over their region, all six organizations worldwide were able to do just that: take over their respective regions. Unsatisfied with control over just their home, however, each set their sights on the mainland – Kanto, Johto, and the surrounding areas – only to find that they weren't the only ones with that same idea.
With six groups who can't get along in one area, who knows what kind of zany nonsense will propel one group to victory above all others? It's up to you, the members, to decide! Help us decide who's the best of the best when it comes to Pokemon teams, and have fun at your stay at Heavy Crowns!
we're officially open~! no fancy givaways or anything yet, unfortunately; just some good ol' app makin' and question asking right now. our first weekly challenges will be coming up on the twentieth in a week's time, so keep an eye out for those. welcome to the site, and we hope you enjoy your stay!

He hated the way that his concern was brushed off with a cursory laugh and easy dismissal. Still, all he could do was bristle and sulk into his freshly poured tea. Odo knew him well enough on how to distract him from the topic at hand, and Will was learning to pick up on those moments. And calling him a 'sucre d'orge' on top of a pile of flattery was definitely one of those moments.
At least he could be confident in the fact that there was no way possible for Odo to actually summon Ho-Oh. Not after generations of Trainers have tried. As much as he attempted to remake the world a beautiful place, it didn't mean he himself was without scruples.
"Please don't call me your sugar... whatever." He waved his hand to dismiss the idea, nearly unable to suppress a shudder at the thought. "That is definitely one of those things you should not do."
Still, he let his hand drop into his lap, the other gripping the cup of tea against his knee. Will hummed in thought, trying to figure out the best place to begin. "Hundreds of years before Ho-Oh abandoned his post atop the Bell Tower, there was a second tower, there in the west." He twisted around to point off toward the distant mountain, the remains of the tower still visible. "It was said that Lugia used to reside there before fleeing to Whirl Island. The two towers represented life to the east, and death to the west."
He turned back to ensure that Odo was indeed listening, not just attempt to distract him by letting him ramble on for considerable length of time (as he was prone to do), then pointed to the Bell Tower looming over them. "Nearly two hundred years ago, the western tower was struck down by lightning and three Pokemon were killed in the resulting fire. Ho-Oh revived them, and they became the Legendary Beasts. Then, Ho-Oh flew off, supposedly to find someone pure of heart."
William paused to drink his tea, organizing the next few thoughts before speaking. "As for the bells, it is believed that evil spirits can seal bells and stop their sound. Bells are a sort of..." Here, he floundered for a moment, searching for the right words. "They're a call to duty, you could say. With Ho-Oh's absence, well, this place sort of loses it's succor. It's nothing more than a pretty building with bells that don't chime and a missing deity. Sort of sad..." He trailed off, and reached for another sandwich for lack of anything better to end his rambling with.

“Barley sugar,” Odo clarified, not at all bothered or put off by the dismissal. He refilled his own cup of tea and let William go into what he knew. While true that the younger boy often enjoyed letting Will ramble as a means to distract him or kill time, he also truly did listen more often than not. He finished off his sweet tart and started cutting into another as Will spoke, his eyes never really leaving the other male.
He mulled over each statement, mentally dividing the information between what was actively useful to him immediately, what was mere myth, and what could potentially lead to greater discoveries in the future. He could have said that Will knew more than he had thought, but that was not the case. It may have been flattery, but he often did think of Will as worldly and knowledgeable. It would have been weird for anyone with his background to be otherwise, wouldn’t it? He pushed a tart over Will’s way even though he hadn’t asked for it yet.
“So, Ho-Oh truly flew the coop?” Odo’s shoulders fell in a sigh, raising his cup back to his lips. “Pure of heart, hm? That’s not something you come across everyday. It’s no wonder it hasn’t returned yet. But then…” His head tilted and his eyes shifted to the trees for a moment. “Suppose someone pure of heart went to the tower and made the bells ring again. Or at least proved themselves pure of heart in some way. If the legends are true, then certainly the pokémon would return, yes?”

He accepted the slice of tart without complaint, because they did look good -- even if he had a whole other sandwich to eat still. But just before he could get started on that, Odo did the unthinkable.
He made a horrible pun.
At first, William wasn't entirely too sure it had actually just happened. Sure, he had seen the opportunity to use 'flew the coop' but resisted the urge because it was unsightly to make bad puns (was there ever a good one?). Surely, Odo couldn't have been one of those that actually stooped to that level.
But no. He was. Why he thought otherwise was a mystery.
Will released a groan of the long-suffering and covered his face with one hand. "Yes. Pure of heart." He dragged his hand down, scrubbing away the mounting exhaustion that was only a result of allowing himself to get constantly annoyed at his boss' antics. "I suppose that's what the legend is saying. Whichever trainer can manage to lure it back would have the once in the world chance to capture it." His gaze went distant as he stared down at the sandwich and tea. Finding someone that would have that chance would be a truly magnificent person to observe. There is no better chance for greatness than capturing one of the Legendary Pokemon.
"I'm more curious about what the cause and effect result comes in regards to this tower if Ho-Oh does return," he finally said, straightening his posture and returning his attention to the sandwich in his lap. "And if that means they might consider rebuilding the second tower..."

Odo’s appreciation for bad jokes knew no bounds. His reaction to Will’s groan was nearly another chuckle, but he tried to muffle it just for now. However, the wide grin on his face could not be tamed, and not just because he enjoyed bothering Will. No, the confirmation that his idea was plausible sparked an excitement within him. He would not act on it immediately, but it was enough to get his gears turning.
“Pure of heart…” He repeated once more to himself, his fingers tapping on his lips. He fell silent and still for a good minute before he finally moved to search for his own sandwich in the basket. “Thank you for the information! I shall keep it in mind.”
He unwrapped the sandwich with care, just as properly as would be expected from someone with his upbringing. Picnics might have been a more casual affair, and he may have been odd enough to start the meal with his dessert, but he did not tear at any packaging like a wild animal. He cared just enough to avoid that. “All of it makes me very curious, too. It would be a shame if no one ever tried to bring back Ho-Oh. Let’s try one day, William!”
Although he had only just assured Will that he had no intention of acting on fleeting interests in the region’s myths, he was already making plans to contradict that.

William ate his second sandwich with a lot more care and thoughtfulness, though all of that concentration wasn't focused on the food. It was on the possibility of Odo organizing a search party in order to track down this 'pure of heart' trainer the legend spoke of. Would probably take this trainer in under his wing (hah) and groom him to be a perfect replacement leader when Valda eventually had to step down.
Unless...
"You... you don't actually plan on going after Ho-Oh yourself, do you?" Will asked, the cold fear of a man looking certain doom in the face settling over him. "No offense, but there is no way that you would be able to summon the Legendary Pokemon." And just because he wasn't necessarily bent on the leadership position himself, didn't mean that he wouldn't find some poor sap to put in charge in his place to puppet along from behind.
He could already feel the ulcer growing in the pit of his stomach as he set his sandwich back down onto the wrapper. If he thought about this any more, he was going to lose his appetite.

“It goes without saying that I would play my role in orchestrating such an incredible event to the extent I was able, but…” Odo shrugged, the rather wily grin still clear across his face. “I’m afraid it’s not for me. There is just too much in this deep heart of mine, I couldn’t consider it as pure as the driven snow.”
Which was another delicate way to explain he knew as well as William that he was impure. He was reckless, impulsive, and practically heartless to both enemies and those he could consider friends. He was driven, certainly, and he was capable of many things. But that was not the quality for which Ho-Oh waited.
Though Will was setting his sandwich down, Odo was now halfway finished with his own. Ulcer-less and dauntless, he thought very little of the gravity behind his idea even though he understood it. “I may have someone in mind— someone who could have a purer heart than my own. However, it’ll take time before I can be sure. Let’s just enjoy our picnic for now.”
He paused and held up the thermos containing what remained of the tea. “More tea?”

Well, that at least took a lot off his mind. It was one thing to be there as Odo groomed a replacement of sorts to go after this legendary Pokemon. It was a completely different thing to stand there and watch as Odo attempted this himself. And, by the sound of it, his boss knew the difference.
"I'm glad we're on the same page at least, Sir, in regards to your distinct lack of scruples." When he smirked, he was relieved to feel the loosening of the knot in his stomach, and picked his sandwich back up. "It will be interesting to see what sort of person you have deemed worthy enough of such a task."
William accepted the offer for more tea as he finished off the second sandwich. "I guess all we have left is to enjoy the picnic," he agreed. "And time to see what fruit tart and green tea taste like as a combo..."
