History
lorelei was born on the seventh day of september in blackthorn city. At that particular time on the city's history, the birth of a child was a rare occurrence, so the brunette's birth was met with high regard. from the very beginning, she was met with far more care than she should have received, spoiled rotten by both her mother and the other people of the town as though she were their child, as well. they raised her well, sharing with her their intelligence in every way they could, even when they weren't even positive she could register everything in her mind. it was no wonder the young little miss was bright from the very get go, excelling immensely in smarts and surprising many with what she accomplished. her mother, having been raised in a very sophisticated family, made sure to pass on her traditions to the female and made sure she behaved and used her manners whenever and wherever. while she could be strict at times, the mother and daughter got along quite well.
however, oberon ackermann, the father of this prodigy child, was somewhat of a different story. perhaps he was slightly jealous that the infant received more attention from the woman he married than he during those early days. maybe he was simply worn out from nights of being woken up by a weeping child. maybe something just went flat out wrong somewhere along the line that no one noticed and changed the man. while a subtle difference at first, over the years of the future team rocket admin's childhood, he began to change from a man dear adelaide ackermann could love and respect to something else entirely. he began drinking frequently, coming home angry and off his rocker on more than a few occasions and taking out his displaced anger on the two females of the house. of course, the next day, everything would seem to be normal, perfectly fine, and the "happy" family reset back to its original state until night fell once again and more bruises would be added to the last. it was obvious that the blue-eyed child had driven a rift between her parents and threw a stake into their relationship. however, she would never know the entirety of it all until it was too late.
when lorelei began attending school, her parents began seeing other people. though they appeared to still be together - they were, legally, still married - they would often end up spending long times away from home in the company of "friends", leaving the five-year-old with the other parent or even home alone. the abuse, sadly, did not stop and, when her mother was away, the youngest of the dysfunctional trio was left to take most of the damage from his blows. a year passed, though, and something seemed to perk up the rapidly falling esteem of the young girl. adelaide was, once again, pregnant - the father unknown to this date, though assumed to be oberon's at the time - and, nine months later, young frieda was brought into the world. the long-haired brunette showed off her motherly tenancies right off the bat, being a better parental figure for the young child than her parents ever were. she took all the infant's blows, verbal and physical, helped feed her, kept her safe from obvious harm, tried to teach her all she could. while many found the girls' relationship "cute" or "mature", she found it necessary. she, herself, had already had a shattered childhood. the best she could do is try to distract herself from that and spare the younger of the two the same thing.
though it was obvious to the eldest daughter of adelaide and oberon, when the former discovered evidence of her husband cheating on her with not one but multiple women, all heck broke loose throughout the ackermann family. a fight like she'd never seen before - verbal warfare thrown both ways, punches thrown, even weapons they could find around the home hurled at one another - broke out, shattering the family of four forever. as frieda, hardly three years of age bawled at the ruckus, the brunette was reduced to having to attempt to comfort the young child throughout the span of the argument and pick up the shattered pieces left behind as the man of the house slammed the door and never came back. something changed in adelaide that day and the once respectable young woman was never the same. she grew... distant, almost, all of her energy seeming to have been stolen by a thief in the night and her care for herself and her two daughters vanishing into thin air. for a while, the two sisters were forced to be taken care of by various, sympathetic towns folk who gave them shelter, food, and overall care. however, five years later, she found she could no longer handle having to accept the assistance of those who weren't even required to do so and returned home to become the next head of the family.
at fourteen years of age, lorelei did everything she could to keep the three alive. she learned how to cook - started with little things like mac 'n' cheese everyday, despite frieda's constant protests - did the laundry, cleaned up around the house, and took the place of her mother in said female's mental absence. she made sure her mother was cared for, as well, even if it meant she was forced to shove her not so tasteful meals down her throat and rolling her out of bed to take baths and the like. for a year, the broken family managed, even if just barely. however, things took another turn for the worst after the eldest child had managed to stabilize things. disease struck blackthron, the people unprepared and with medicines still weeks away from coming. adelaide was the first to fall ill, symptoms being around for nearly a month before her youngest daughter caught it, too. she tried every homemade remedy, tried to keep everyone at full health. however, without direct medical attention, the illness got progressively worse. in the end, it was too much for the eldest of the three and their mother passed away. her daughters did not attend her funeral.
when all hope seemed to be lost for nine-year-old frieda, medicine finally arrived in town and the much needed attention was given to those who had fallen ill. while she'd feared the most important person in her life would be ripped away from her, the younger of the only two remaining ackermanns made as close to a full recovery as she could and, in the end, everything went back to normal. as normal as loosing their guardian could be, that is. without their mother to take care of them, all that was left was to locate their father and have them live with him and the new family he'd found to replace them. however, the elder of the two refused to go anywhere near the man, blaming him for how distorted her life had been and currently was. afraid they would take the two by force, she packed both frieda and her things and hit the road, taking her younger sister with her and, essentially, running away from blackthorn. by the time the weakening duo arrived in ecruteak, things once again fell even more downhill after being stabilized once more. the younger of the two claimed that she did not wish to remain on the run, uncertain of where they would sleep or if they'd get a meal that night. she claimed she would rather live under the father she'd never known's roof than on the cold, hard concrete under an unforgiving sky.
the two had an all out argument, the blue-eyed teenager exclaiming that he did not love her - never had and never would - and that, after finding out on her mother's dieing bed, that he was not even her real father. she went even further to insist that she was the only one who would ever care for the girl of barely ten and that, if she left now, no one would ever care for her again. heartbroken, frieda turned tail in pursuit of oberon, hoping that he would show her pity and take her in until she was old enough to live on her own. that night, lorelei wished her sister had died of that fatal illness. to this day, she has lead herself to believe that she did, in fact, die nearly a year in advance.
seventeen, dehydrated, alone, and with nowhere to go, the long-haired being was flat out of options. upon collapsing in goldenrod city, she first encountered a mysterious young man by the name of blaise who offered her assistance: a place to call home. though she'd built up a bit of pride over the years, she found she could not turn down the handsome man that had come to her and, though hesitantly, accepted his offer. the two's relationship started out rocky, her being mistrusting and suspicious towards his every action and he poking fun at every single one of her flaws. however, after nearly two years of living with him, the two grew fond of one another, even becoming the equivalent of "friends", though awkward ones at that. despite a six year difference in age and the female's outward distaste for relationships, many people who confronted them or where friends of his mistook them as a couple from the very get go. the man's flirtatious ways and teasing nature didn't help her at all when she insisted that they were far from anything involving romance. though, as even more years ticked by and the young woman hit age twenty-five, she couldn't help but find him at least a little attractive...
one year later, blaise began leaving home more often and staying out at odd hours of the day. for a while, he never answered when she questioned his odd behavior. however, after what seemed like an eternity, he answered her with an offer - an offer to join the ranks of the local mafia, a group who had taken over the city and were quickly reaching out to make claims on the surrounding areas. at first, lorelei was baffled, not sure how to respond – how had the blaise she'd known been working for the mafia? though, after he offered her a higher position than a lowly grunt and she realized she could possibly avenge her mother's demise and her sister's betrayal by killing her father in the midst of this group's efforts without being dubbed insane, she agreed. it was around this time that she met the leader, a proud woman who she soon came to idolize, even referring to as "master".
lorelei began to classify her odd feelings towards blaise as a foreign thing known as "love", starting to go out of her way to impress him and get his attention. her attempts to get closer to him, sadly, backfired, only causing him to drift farther away from him. life at home grew more and more awkward to a point where he hardly even spoke to her unless spoken to. in the end, she discovered that he was already in an affair with another woman - another member of team rocket - and any chances at love for her were crushed. more heartbroken than she'd ever been since frieda's departure, she packed her bags and moved into the rocket base and dedicated her life to serving the group's cause. her popularity within the organization skyrocketed, many more members growing a special kind of respect for the woman who dedicated her life to the only thing she had left. the leader, herself, must have noticed that as the blue-eyed trainer ended up as the blonde's right-hand woman.
in the end, however, being the right-hand woman did nothing for her when another group rose up in the joint regions - team rocket. a man by mr. vanish had acquired the means to dominate the land, and any gangs or groups who had a foothold in any given area were given the option to join or die. it was only on the instance of her master that she spared herself and joined with the rockets; little did she know, the older woman perished in fighting to more powerful group. vanish, in her eyes, hardly deserved as much respect as the woman he had replaced, but her high position was maintained - and even expanded upon when she continued to bury herself in non-stop work - and that was all she could ask for. when his daughter, however, was given the title of leader in his wake, a certain type of bitterness all too familiar to her began to boil in her heart – spoiled and bossy, in the brunette's eyes, elise could not have been any worse a leader to follow her master once removed. years of hiding emotions have allowed her to bury this deep hatred for the vanishes beyond where anyone else can see them, but lorelei dreams of a day when she can put an end to their lineage and take the team for herself, mold it into something the blonde she had so readily served would be proud of.
