History
There is a story before Delia, with the mixing of real joy and real sadness. This story is Delia's beginning. It was where she started and where she will always go back to. In the beginning there was a simple farm. Her father was the son of a simple farmer and his name was Andre Decoudreau. His beautiful wife was a former Pokemon medic that went by the name of Allysson (Lyssander). They had married quickly because of an "accidental" pregnancy. But they became a happy family. She grew up to love both her parents dearly, but they would never compare to the love and admiration that she had for her uncle Ignace. She absolutely adored him, his gifts, and they way he always tried to make her smile.
When she was six years old, and he was leaving for Team Plasma, she vowed to him that she would always try to make other people happy, rather then bring them down and make fun of them. She proved to be a natural at this ability, having a bright smile on her face wherever she went. She would practice silly jokes and make funny faces at people. She would even do this to perfect strangers when she would pass them by, just to see them smile a little bit. She always hated it when people would be upset or sad and she made the vow to do everything she could to see people smile. Of course she didn't realize the great responsibility she had just put on herself.
This was especially hard when she tried to stop her parents from fighting. It started soon after Iggy left, or maybe it had always been, but Elli had been too busy with Iggy to notice. She would do everything she could to make her parents happy, to tell them to stop fighting. At night she would end up sobbing herself to sleep because she began to believe it was her fault they were fighting and that it was her fault she couldn't make them happy.
At the age of nine Delia stopped going out of the house. She stopped visiting people in the nearby town and she stopped taking care of the Pokemon outside in the barn, as was her job. Her parents couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. She barely spoke, barely ate, barely went outside her room and Allysson consistently heard her crying in the night. But every time she would go and check on her the young girl would be asleep.
Allysson and Andre began to fight about her behavior. And hearing that happen was the last straw for Delia. She had already gotten a call from her uncle saying that he was being transferred and that he would miss her. She made the decision that night and made her run for it. Without her parents knowing about her disappearance, she ran straight to the base that Ignace was currently staying in. It took her almost all night to get to his current base. When she got to the surrounding areas Lia waited until morning before she went in and signed up to Team Plasma. She was immediately paired with an adorable little Ralts who became one of her best friends and the perfect emotional companion.
Of course Lia ended up leaving the base that day in a group of people who was transferred over to the Kanto/Johto regions. It was then that Ignace got the memo that Lia was missing and that she had ran away. But it wasn't long before he found her at the new base, having literally bumped into her. There was a lot of messing around between the little family and about what they should do with Delia. The final decision was that she would stay with Ignace as long as he took care of her. She was punished accordingly of course, but she quickly grew accustomed to living at the new base with Iggy. She spent a lot of her time training, and the rest of her time was spent trying to make the people around her smile and laugh, as she had gotten very good at holding her smile in front of people, even though behind the scenes she still secretly cried at night.
As Ignace had grown, Lia had also grown, and while it took her a little bit longer to achieve the goal of Officer, Lia finally made the position on her birthday only a few months ago as she turned sixteen. They hadn't allowed her before because of her age, but because she had been there for six years and had been doing so well in her training they decided to make it finally official.
