History
james was born in nimbasa city, but raised in undella town by his aunt; having been dropped off by his father shortly after his birth. it was a small town, so james had a rather sheltered upbringing, which only managed to compliment the lessons taught by his aunt and (occasionally) his father. being considerate of others, not starting fights, good manners, how to bake a cake; they all ultimately lead to making a fundamentally decent human being in the shape of a ten year-old.
a good person perhaps, but still one quite lonely, for even among the limited peers he had in undella; james had a tendency to get pushed around more than anything. so one day his father, a ranger tasked with keeping pokemon safe from wild humans (and sometimes vice versa), brought home a friend for his son. a young swablu found abandoned and starving on a nearby route. she was instantly christened 'aurora' and adopted as james' best friend for life.
this comfortable childhood continued till james reached the age of thirteen, at which point he was finally deemed mature enough to go into the wild with his father. on the evening of their second day trekking, both father and son were suddenly struck down by shivering, dizziness and nausea. things continued to go rapidly downhill with the appearance of pokemon led by people, both obviously intending to cause harm.
the remainder of the trip's events are hazy for james, even now. all that is to be known is that he was found by members of team plasma in the wild nearly a week after the attack, kept alive by aurora. his father was not so lucky, missing and presumed dead after the ambush- an act supposedly carried out by poachers.
unsurprisingly james joined the team plasma less than a year later. it was a chance to be like his old man; one of the good guys who stopped the exploitation of pokemon and tried to make them and humans actually get along.
he rose through the ranks slowly, but steadily; being strangely likable and clearly devoted to the team. nearly eight years of dedication pay off sooner or later, and james was promoted to admin on arrival to the mainland, ready to help out in this vital step to the realization of their dreams.
