Unova was very different from this world. In contrast to this seaside town, Unova was made around the newest century. Sure, there were a few scattered towns where you’d find traditions being properly preserved from the race with technology. But it wasn’t anything like this. Just looking out the window, one could see fisherman setting sail or dotting the shores to cast their lines. A woman was near the dock, putting out her linens to dry in the crisp, salty air. Even for being one of Johto’s larger cities, they still acted like they were small at heart. Never in her life had she heard of such a town except in fairy tales. The elite of Plasma realized though that the reason this place was far different was because they had learned. These people had adjusted to having Rocket trample them for so long that Plasma moving in was hardly a threat. And why should it be?
Kennedy felt her teeth grit slowly watching the fisherman struggle with the line. A part of her desperately prayed the line never came up or rather that it tangled and broke. Pokemon were best left free. Not fished up to be caught and sold. It was dark and horrible, but today wasn't a day for her to be tackling these problems. No, today was one of her rare "slow" days. Not precisely a day off, but just time where work wasn't supposed to be the priority. If anybody was happy to have been moved to this down for such a day, it had been her pokemon which were now nowhere to be found.
And that is how she was found, searching up and down the beaches while calling out their names. "Bandit! Rebel! You damn pests, where are you? We don't have time for sunbathing!" However, the more she called, the less response she seemed to get. They were probably dug under the sand, unseen thanks to their natural ability to meld in with the colors. Knowing the hippowdon and hippopotas, they wouldn't be seen until they had sufficiently napped in the warm beach. Just great. She honestly wanted to spend the day examining some paperwork, maybe even find time to train with her companions. Yes, they were against battle but it was always best to be prepared for it. How could she do any of this without them? In frustration, Kennedy drew her foot back and kicked the sand, only to lose her footing and fall back. "Great, JUST great!" she snapped, huffing before just resting her head on her knees. "Stupid... stupid hippos, ruining all my plans." Least it was a decently warm day, though she was never one to rest from the work needed to be done. At least a few minute to stare out at sea, however, couldn't be all that bad.
