History
Believe it or not, Momoko's history as a Team Flare member starts with her being your average, classy "grunt". She is the adoptive daughter of a famous pianist from Johto who just so happened to support Team Flare ideals. The media took great interest in her, but Momoko was withdrawn and had low self-esteem. Rather than talk about herself, she would speak about how great her father is and his ideals, unintentionally becoming Team Flare propaganda. Regardless, her interviews sparked a trickle of support, and Momoko was invited to come out to the Kalos city to be promoted to Officer (without ever knowing she was a grunt).
Somewhere in her travels, Momoko got very...lost and confused. But that would be an understatement. It would seem that she had mistaken the Lumiose Gang called "Team Flame" as Team Flare...she had never claimed to be the smartest girl. Regardless, her time with Team Flame was not a horrible one. In fact, it filled a deep, empty hole inside of her and gave her self esteem a significant boost. She quickly shot up the ranks and even became the leader of the gang. Now, she knew the true definition of what style was; it wasn't about what or how you wore things, its about how confidant you are when you wear them! As the Team Flame member and newly awakened Momoko, she became a bit of an idol in the region with her fun and crazy cosplays and bright and bubbly personality.
Eventually she did find the actual Team Flare and joined, converting all of the Team Flame gang along with her. Needless to say, it was a bit of a confusion as to what the hell had happened, but she was still bringing in new members and no one seemed to be repulsed by Momoko, so they figured to allow her among the ranks...so long as she took some culture classes.
