Eridan sat back in his chair. He was sitting outside a cafe in Cerulean City waiting for someone important. Iris Auclair, one of the best and and one of the worst things to happen in his life. They had spent eight years growing up together, sharing many interests. But her parents despised him. So when ten year-old Eri took eight year-old Iri to see a pokemon battle they sent him away. To be re-educated, to be punished; whatever their reason it didn't work. He had spent a lot of time in Hoenn region training and growing. Team Aqua had helped with that. Starting at the bottom ranks, Eridan worked his way up. It took eleven years but he made it to the coveted Admin rank.
So imagine his surprise when he had looked through some random files and recognized a name. A name he hadn't seen or heard in eleven years. Iris Auclair was an Elite in his own team. And now the moment had finally come. He had sent her an anymous Admin message requesting her presence. He doubted she would recognize him after all these years. He had the same hair color but had to obtain glasses for his dreadful near-sightedness. Iris on the other hand Eridan would've recognized her anywhere. Her body had grown and filled out but her hair was still a violent shade of scarlet and her eyes held the same fierceness as they did.
Eridan checked the message again. It was nearing the designated time and Iri still was no where in sight.
"Aqua Elite Operative, Iris Auclair:
I have a task that you have the specific skills I need. Meet me at 'the Sensational Sisters' Cafe' in Cerulean City at 1400 tomorrow.
Aqua Administration"

This was pretty unexpected, a sudden call from Aqua Administration for a meeting, the details of which she wasn’t to know until arriving? Iris was nervous, and a little bit apprehensive. But, orders were orders, and she would comply, though she was hesitant due to the lack of information. If some higher up thought that he could boss her around just because he was at a higher rank, he was about to think again. No one bossed around Iris Auclair, not even the damn leader of the team.
She had Pumpkin walking beside her, leading the way to the café as she was usually apt to do. The air of the city was alive with air wind, the breeze ruffling the Flareon’s fur and causing her to quiver. Iris sighed and picked up the creature, snuggling her as she made her way into the café. There weren’t many people in the café, only a mother with her two children, and a young man. Clearly, he was the one to whom she needed to speak.
Glasses, rather tall, blue hair, he was the poster child of Team Aqua. Iris didn’t recognize him, but he had to know who she was, if he was calling her here!
She stood at the head of the table at which he was seated. She stood and squared her jaw, placing Pumpkin on the ground to wander, before saying, not without the smallest trace of sarcasm for the pompous admin, “Iris Auclair, reporting for duty, sir.”

She came. Of course she did, why wouldn't she? And she didn't seem to recognize him. Eridan was worried for nothing, as an Aqua Admin it was expected for others to follow his orders, a concept still fresh and new to him. "Sit down Miss Auclair." He instructed, gesturing towards the seat across from him. A pretty, young waitress brought over a steaming mug and set it in front of Iris' chair. "It would appear you're beverage is here. Pumpkin spice latte I hope you enjoy it." He said without giving away his own thoughts on this. He had ordered the drink to be made and brought when a red-haired girl came to the cafe.
"Iris, I had you come here today for several reasons. For one I wish to get to know some of the Elites of Aqua better. I am the newest Admin for the team though I don't expect you to have known that before now." He took a sip from his own drink, a simple green tea with a small amount of sugar in it. "I am very interested to learn why as an Elite within Team Aqua is constantly seen with a fire-type pokemon in her possession." Eridan was of course flattered whether he should have been or not, her main pokemon was the same as his was that fateful night. "You don't feel as though that is a conflict of interests? Here you blatantly flaunt a Flareon in a team who wish for water to engulf the world."
Eridan shook his head after that small rant. "The main reason I wanted you to come here today is to get some intel from you. I have been tasked with recruiting new members into our team. One potential recruit stands out and it would seem you have some history with this person." The big moment. Here he delivers the steel bombshell statement. "I would like to know everything you know of a young man named Eridan Schnee."
