History
Emilio Rafferty started out like any other kid did. Growing up with his parents in the region of Johto. Milo always loved his father. It was he who brought the little Chimchar home and gave it to him. Their family was never very rich, so Pyro was a dear gift to Milo from his father. The two energetic beings became instant friends and grew and instant bond so deep, no one could infiltrate. But even so, Milo always loved his parents, and when the fire hit, he lost everything.
So, Lets talk about the fire. It was no accident. The Rafferty house was targeted. Of course, no one in the Pokemon Team, Magma knew that Karl Rafferty had a son. They only knew that he and his wife were former team Aqua members and that Karl (who was a former Admin of Team Aqua) was planning on joining back up with his old team. Being a Training prodigy, Karl was a threat. One that team magma was not willing to risk letting back into the Training Team World.
When Karl found out that he was going to be visited by one of the Magma Team Admins he told his son to go next door with their much older neighbors to be baby sat. Emilio was only 7 years old. Of course Milo didn't know what was going on or why it was happening, he only knew that he had to listen to his upset parents. In response he took Pyro and they both went next door to the old neighbors house.
No one knew how the fight started or progressed, but the outcome was obvious. The last time Emilio looked at his house it was thrown up in flames. Completely and entirely out of fear and grief Milo ran. He ran from the house. Ran from his parents. Ran from the place he knew so well. And he never went back. Not wanting to see the devastation that he believed he had caused or could have stopped. He still has not faced his past to this day.
Moving onward, Emilio and Pyro started living on the streets of Blackthorn city. He lived with a small street gang, getting money, stealing food, and just generally surviving. It wasn't long after the fire though when Milo met the new kid in town, Lyon Martellus. They ran into each other one fateful afternoon when Milo tried to steal the kid's lunch from his school lunchbox on the school lawn. Lyon caught him, but after a few silly words Milo popped the sandwich in his mouth and ate as much as he could of it before the other boy could take it from him.
The two became fast friends and started doing everything together. Course, when Lyon was in school Milo would have other "responsibilities" he would have to attend to. Like getting money for his gang master, but Milo was such a silly, attention stealing boy that it wasn't hard for him to gain the amount he needed. Though he didn't tell Lyon the way he lived of course. Around the age of thirteen, one of the other boys stole his winning money and gave it to the gang leader instead. Who of course didn't believe that Milo had earned the money merely because it wasn't him who brought it. This got him into a lot of trouble.
Afterward, Milo stopped hanging out with Lyon because of bullying issues that began to arise. The boy got other boys to help him steal from Milo and Pyro, which caused Milo to struggle to keep his winnings safe. He would hide them away, and they would be found. He would stand up to the boys, and he would be beat.
Milo became so desperate for money that he began to steal. He would steal money from people and bring that to the gang leader to make up for what he lost. But the bigger boys would always find him first.
It had been a whole year before Lyon found Milo on the streets one day, completely beat with Pyro passed out from losing a battle. The boy was brought to the hospital to recover. They both awoke about a three days later covered in bruises and cuts. Emilio had completely forgotten what had happened, being plagued with a mild concussion.
When Milo got out of the hospital, he told Lyon that he was going to join up with the Magma Pokemon team. Unknowing that they were the cause of his parents death Milo had become interested in them as he was watching the Hospital television. Lyon agreed to go with him and they both joined up as grunts to rise in the Magma ranks. They are currently in the Elite group, sharing absolutely everything they own except Pyro. Who will always be Milo's deepest friend.
